More than 70 experts from across the commercial property sector turned out for the official launch of The Point at Aberdeen’s historic Art Gallery on June 12.
This group includes John Halliday, of Halliday Fraser Munro, the renowned architect who developed the vision for The Point, and representatives for Dandara led by managing director Gavin Wyley and commercial director Neil Young.
The Point, Dandara’s flagship development, is an investment in the region of £20m, commanding the finest streetscape in the beating heart of a city which sets the tone for the global energy industry. This new development will provide 80,000 sq ft of grade-A office space and will be connected to all of Aberdeen’s modern amenities and key business locations on the site of Archibald Simpson’s famous Triple Kirks.
The Point Aberdeen – Class-A office space available in late 2015
Gavin Wyley, managing director of Dandara in Aberdeen, said: “By delivering The Point we will create much-needed class-A office space to help re-invigorate the beating heart of the Granite City, and aim to be on-site before the end of the year with a target of completing the building in late 2015.
“With limited scope for iconic commercial development in Aberdeen, we expect to see strong interest from the marketplace – The Point offers an ideal location for companies in the buoyant energy sector, and corporates who have long held an ambition to establish themselves in the city centre but been constrained by availability. Elected members voted to embrace the future by approving Halliday Fraser Munro’s design for The Point and we can now begin our work to enhance the city centre by restoring one of its great landmarks.”
